Kamadeva is the Hindu god of love. You may be familiar with the term Kama Sutra, which gets its name from him. Like his equivalent, the Greek god Eros, Kamadeva also shot arrows to initiate love between people and gods. When he interrupted the Lord Shiva's meditation by striking him with his arrow Shiva opened his third eye and destroyed Kamadeva's body. Of course Shiva also fell in love with his second wife due to Kamadeva's intervention and saved the gods from an evil demon.
With the gods of love, Eros or Kamadeva, people believed the gods' arrows caused the person to fall in love with another. Myths have a way of explaining the mysteries of the universe, and what could be mysterious as the cause of attraction of one person for another?
How many times have you heard questions like: Why did she end up with a guy like him? What does she see in him? He's only going to break her heart and everyone seemed to know it but her. In the days of the ancient myths, they had an explanation for such occurrences. The man or woman had been struck by Eros'/Kamadeva's arrow.
What about you? Have you been struck by the arrow of love? Was it a heartbreaker or a match made to last? Comment below and don't forget to include your email to be entered in the drawings.

Excerpt:
The sparkling champagne tickled her nose when Meg lifted her glass for a drink. "I can't believe we've been together three years."
"So? Do you think you've had enough yet?"
She giggled. "I don't think you're talking about the champagne. No. If you hadn't realized it, I'm completely spellbound, within your control."
His blue eyes pierced her. "Are you?"
A tingle ran straight to her core at his tone. Only he affected her this way. No other man could master her.
She dipped her head in an immediate submissive posture.
"So, finally you remember your training." His murmur sent another jolt through her. She shifted in her chair.
Excerpt:
"Oh, Kama, I can't bear it." She flung herself face down onto their bed. "Please, don't desert me. Don't make me go through life without being able to see your handsome face, to talk to you and hear your sweet voice."
She wept. The tears wet the pillow and then the bedding. She couldn't stop crying.
Her head ached and she swallowed hard. Sorrow lay on her heart. She fell into an exhausted sleep.
Dawn reached its golden fingers through the window to dance along her eyelids. She opened her eyes and reached for Kama beside her as she'd done for centuries, but instead of his warm hard body, she found a vacant pillow. The previous day returned in a rush.
Her voice hoarse, she said. "My love. Where are you?"
A faint sound sang above her. "Maya," he whispered.
"Kama?"
"Don't forget me."
"Never, my love."
"I'm trying to stay with you." The air shimmered and his glorious face appeared. "It is difficult to stay visible."
"Have you been here all along?"
He nodded. "Don't cry. I've found my way back to you. I went to the gods, but none can see me. No one seems to be able to except you."
He reached a hand toward her cheek. "Wipe your tears, love."
